Mallorca is, without a doubt, one of the unmissable destinations for any true cyclist. Its unforgettable routes, its well-kept and safe network of secondary roads and its exceptional and warm climate all year round make Mallorca the perfect cycling tourism destination.

Ponent Mar is one of the pioneering hotels in Mallorca specialising in cycling tourism. We are proud to have hosted numerous professional teams (Carrera, Banesto... among others), with stars such as Miguel Indurain, Claudio Chiappucci, Marco Pantani, Alejandro Valverde, and Chava Jimenez. Nevertheless, we have not forgotten all the cyclists who have come and helped us in the creation of this project, nor those who have not come, but who will come!

How to book

1. Enter the PROMOCODE: CYCLING and complete the booking form for your room with the dates, type of room and desired board.
2. Once you have completed these details, a window will appear with the extras you wish to add (bike hire, group or private group outings).
3. As an option, you can join our group outings on the days of your choice.
4. You can also organise a private outing for a maximum of 4 people.
5. Confirm and fill in the form with your details and credit card information. You pay nothing until your arrival.
6. If you want a transfer from the airport to Ponent Mar, do not hesitate to contact us.

Bicycle hire

BH Ultralight 8.0

Our bikes are equipped with an ultra-light carbon frame with Shimano Ultegra brakes and gears. They have a FSA 50/34 crank and 11/30 cassette, ideal for the mountainous terrain of Mallorca.

Don't forget to bring your shoes, pedals and helmet. If you don't have them, please contact us.

Bike rental price: €25 per day.

Group outings

At Ponent Mar we have it all ready for you to experience cycling and enjoy the island regardless of your level or experience.
We have routes for all levels with morning departures. These are all different routes with a distance that varies between 50 and 110 kilometres, depending on the level of the group. Our expert guides will accompany you throughout the day. We have several groups with different levels, which are perfectly adapted to the fitness level of each cyclist.
We return to the hotel at approximately 13:30 - 14:00 hours and the price of these outings is €20 per person per day.

Private outings

For those who prefer to set their own pace, we offer private outings. Design your own route with one of our experienced guides, in groups of up to four people. You can specify all the details of the outing you wish to do and we will find a route that suits your needs. Leave it in our hands!

Price €120 per group per day. Groups of maximum 4 people. Departures available all year round "on request".

Santa Maria

Arriving at Santa Maria del Camí is marvellous. In the middle of a plain, surrounded by vineyards and wineries, the landscape is beautiful. Due to the soil of this part of the island, this is Mallorca's most specialised wine-producing area. In Santa Maria you will find several places to stop and recharge your batteries with pastries and coffees.

Tour and Giro groups: 109 km and an elevation gain of 1150+ m.
Vuelta and Challenge groups: 85 km and an elevation gain of 810+ m.

La Cornisa

Although the Banyalbufar route is one of the toughest stages, it is strongly recommended due to its beautiful scenery. It passes through Banyalbufar, a beautiful coastal village that is typical of the Serra de Tramuntana, but which also has even more to offer with its surrounding terraces. The route continues along the coastal road to the next village: Estellencs. Between the sea and the mountains you will find this charming village, which boasts a combination of heritage, tradition and nature. And finally we will head for Andratx, an area known for its orange, almond and olive production.

All groups: 85 km and an elevation gain of 1400 m.

Sant Elm

Sant Elm is in a prime location. With wide views of the open sea, the Serra de Tramuntana and the Dragonera, it is one of the most popular places to enjoy a sunset by the sea. It still has a fishing port and there are boats to take you to explore La Dragonera, which was declared a natural park in 1995. Of course, there is a tough climb up the Trappe to take you back to the hotel.

Tour and Giro groups: 78 km and an elevation gain of 1150m.
Tour and Challenge groups: 62 km and 870 m elevation gain.

Galilea

Galilea is one of the most rural and authentic routes to explore Mallorca. This route is undoubtedly worth doing. At the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, it is surrounded by nature and wild beauty. You will find native goats wandering all over the mountain. The jingle of the bells, which they wear around their necks, is the only thing you can hear along the way.

All groups. distance: 48 km and 670 m elevation gain.

Coll de Soller

On the way to Sóller, after passing the tunnel and the Pla des Ullastres area, you will be able to embark on the 20 hairpin bends that make up this route. With an ascent of 5% and a distance of 5 km, you can enjoy the views along the route. The whole route is surrounded by olive groves, typical of the area. The sun and wind are usually quite strong on this route. In addition, the last two kilometres of the route are considerably steeper. Once at the top, at 500 metres, you will be enchanted by the views.

Tour and Giro groups: 92 km and an elevation gain of 1200 m.
Vuelta and Challenge groups: 86 km and an elevation gain of 1050 m.

Puigpunyent and Esporles

Puigpunyent is located amidst lush pine and oak forests, accompanied by almond and carob trees. Located in the west of Mallorca and on the slopes of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, it is bordered by Esporlas. The Coll de Es Grau route, with an altitude of 450 metres and a gradient of 6.66%, leads to Esporlas. A beautiful mountain village in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana that maintains and preserves its original charm, with winding streets and traditional stone houses, surrounded by beautiful holm oak forests.

Tour and Giro groups: 84 km and 1380 m elevation gain.
Tour and Challenge groups: 62 km and 1000 m elevation gain.
